It's been a busy year for 26-year-old actor Lucas Till. He reprised his role as Havok in the X-Men franchise, then went on to play the iconic 1980s TV character MacGuyver in a new series that kicked off in September.

Now he has a very different movie in cinemas, Monster Trucks, which is basically what it says on the tin. "When you say Monster Trucks, people don't think monsters inside of trucks," he says. "So it's funny to get the reaction of people like, 'Oh, literally monster trucks!'"

Till enjoyed the way the film plays with the usual family movie cliches, never becoming a boy and his alien movie like E.T. "This is more like little brother, big brother," he says. "They don't have the best relationship with each other in the beginning, and then they certainly do by the end. But yeah, my character doesn't coddle him very much. He actually kind of cracks a whip on him like, 'Get to work. This is my truck. You're my engine now.' But then obviously it develops into much more than that."

The Disappointments Room Trailer

After the tragic loss of their daughter, Dana and David move with their son to a new home in a bid to have a fresh start. The house is big and beautiful and in a fantastic rural location but it's run down and has obviously been neglected for years before they owned it.

Though the house needs much restoration work the family decide to move in.

As they all settle down, Diana loves her new house but feels a dark and intriguing presence that draws her to explore every corner of the new property. As Diana begins to investigate the building she goes up into the attic and discovers a locked door. Finally finding a key to the lost room, Diana opens it and unleashes a spirit that's been forcefully held behind the locked door. What Diana comes to learn is that the house was formerly owned by a cruel judge who locked away his daughter in the disappointment room.

Monster Trucks Trailer

Tripp doesn't like the small town life that's currently encapsulating his life. He's a senior in high school and can't wait to make a break for a fresh start as soon as possible. Tripp is a great mechanic and starts building his own monster truck but what happens next was beyond belief for the student.

As Tripp works on his car, he discovers a monster living inside his car. Initially scared of the oddity, the human eventually warms to his unlikely new friend and realises that he must've come to the surface after a recent oil drilling accident.

Tripp calls the monster Creatch and notes that he's incredibly intelligent and loves dining on large quantities of fuel. With hunters hot on the heels of Creatch, Tripp must devise a way to protect his new friend.

X-Men Apocalypse Trailer

X-Men Apocalypse comes as the ninth instalment in the X-Men film series and stars Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy as Raven and Professor X. The X-Men are made up of a subspecies of humans that are born with superhuman abilities and are able to perform acts that are considered not normal for the average human.

X-Men Apocalypse - Teaser Trailer

Mutants and humans alike are familiar with the story of Apocalypse, he was the first mutant and began harnessing his power in ancient times. Now, millions of years after his reign, Apocalypse is reborn and finds himself in the middle of a modern society and shocked by the direction both human and mutant life has taken.

Feeling there are few options left, Apocalypse calls on the help of Magneto and a group of other mutants to help 'cleanse' the earth of all the citizens who have contributed to its downfall. The Horsemen of the Apocalypse - headed by Magneto - start to wreak havoc around the world and it looks like the X-Men's attempts to save it are all but lost - especially when their team is badly hurt by the loss of one member.

Brian Singer directs X-Men Apocalypse which reunites the lead cast from X-Men: Days of Future Past and sees the addition of Sophie Turner as Jean Grey and Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse.
