Lucy Hale, the 23-year-old star of MTV's Pretty Little Liars, has told of her desire to star in the movie adaptation of best-selling novel Fifty Shades of Grey, admitting that she's ready to "do something a bit more risky".
Speaking to Mtv News, Hale told of how she would love to play lead character Anastasia Steele in the movie adaptation of the E.L. James erotic romantic novel, admitting that she is already a big fan of the book. She also said that if the part of Anastasia were not on offer for her, then she would be happy to play the role of her younger sister. Hale's inclusion into the mix of potential stars of the upcoming adaptation pits her against the likes of Kristen Stewart and Emma Roberts, who have both been linked to playing Steele. Meanwhile, Star Trek actor Chris Pine has revealed that he would consider playing the part of the dictatorial hunk, Christian Grey.
The erotic novel itself, which is notable for its explicitly erotic scenes featuring elements of Bdsm, has become the fastest-selling paperback of all time in the UK since it was released last year. It has also become a particularly popular book abroad and was green-lighted for a movie adaptation earlier this year.
