About Lupita Nyong'o's Oscar gown - the thing is beautiful, expensive and unfortunately, still missing. The dress went missing on Wednesday, post-Oscars ceremony, when the fashion-forward actress had left it in her hotel room.

The dress was spectacular, just like anything else Nyong'o wears.

The dress featured a cascade of 6,000 natural pearls and - in its intact state - cost over $150,000 - easily the most expensive piece at the ceremony. It was a white Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein and is apparently un-re-sellable, due to its infamy. However, some reports claim quite the opposite - that in fact, the pearls could be extremely valuable on their own. According to the NY Times' Page Six, earl experts estimated the individual pearls could be worth anywhere from $1 million to $10 million.

Lt. William Nash of the sheriff's West Hollywood station spoke to the LA Times about the theft, explaining that the department received a call about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday that a dress estimated to be worth $150,000 was stolen from a room at the London West Hollywood hotel. This price tag was set by the police's evaluation.

Detectives were at the hotel Thursday morning investigating the theft, Nash said. The exact value of the dress is still up for debate. In fact, Nash said that this is part of the investigation. As of Friday, no arrests have been made, the LA Times also reported. So... has anyone seen a giant pile of pearls laying around?
