Fact: Pirates Of The Caribbean star Mackenzie Crook has written a new Tv comedy about metal detector enthusiasts. The Detectorists, in which the actor will also star as a middle-aged treasure hunter, will debut on the Bbc in October (14).

Fact: British actor Mackenzie Crook has been shortlisted for this year's (12) Waterstones Children's Book Prize in the U.K. for his writing debut. The Pirates of the Caribbean star received the nomination in the five to 12-year-old category for The Windvale Sprites, which he also illustrated. The winner will be announced next month (Mar12).
