Sparks flew when Katy Perry joined Madonna onstage on the latest stop on her Rebel Heart tour in Los Angeles this week, as the two pop titans performed together and got rather close with a few raunchy dance moves.

It’s fair to say that 31 year old Perry brought out her inner fan-girl as Madonna invited her to the stage at The Forum in Inglewood, L.A. on Tuesday evening (October 27th). They joined forces for a rendition of Madge’s ‘Unapologetic B****’, and got rather intimate with their twerking, dipping their butts low and grinding at one point.

Playboy will no longer be publishing nude photos of women. As of next year, as part of the magazine’s redesign, no explicit nude photographs will appear within its pages. Feminists across the World may be celebrating the shift away from such images – the battle still wages with The Sun over its Page Three – but Playboy’s decision does not appear to have been made with quashing sexism in mind.

Legendary indie music icon Morrissey has spoken out against crowdsourcing in pop. Currently without a record deal and having a reputation for falling out with record label bosses over the years, the star has vowed never to resort to raising money online as a means of making new music.

In an interview with Spanish newspaper El Pais, the Mozfather took aim at artists who use the internet to source the money for album projects. “It is a desperate measure, and insulting to your audience,” he railed. “We have already provided sufficient amounts of money. What is the next thing you're going to ask?”

In what’s been a pretty appalling week of negative PR for Madonna, there appears to be some good news at last, as the ‘theatre texting’ incident appears to be blowing over.

The New York Daily News reported at the weekend that the singer had started texting during an intimate off-Broadway theatre performance of ‘Hamilton’, a hip-hop musical directed by and starring Lin-Manuel Miranda. Taking the stage to appeal for charitable donations to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Miranda was reported to have made a barbed reference to someone in the audience who had been practicing poor etiquette.

After the performance, Miranda was reported by Playbill.com to have tweeted “Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage. #noselfieforyou”. Taking these two statements together, many have assumed that person to be Madonna.

The biggest music news of the last few days has been the launch of the subscription-only streaming service Tidal, and the stars have been lining up to give their differing opinions on the controversial business model.

Madonna is not banned from Radio 1 and just needs to get back to releasing decent songs, according to the station's controller Ben Cooper. Madonna had said she was shocked that Living For Love would not be played on the station, saying, "Wait a second. Shouldn't it be to do with whether you wrote a good, catchy pop song?"

Madonna is not banned from Radio 1, but it appears she has little chance of appearing on the station.

Still, Cooper responded saying that the song wasn't played because it wasn't very good.

Madonna has offered her opinion on the Dolce And Gabbana controversy and firmly supports Elton John's views. The controversy stems from a comment made by designer Domenico Dolce in an interview in an Italian magazine, Panorama. In the interview, Dolce described children born by IVF as "synthetic babies". The March issue of the magazine was released on 12th March but the backlash against the duo continues with many celebrities and LGBT groups calling for a boycott of the label and protesters picketing D&G stores.

Sam Smith has scored a rare ‘double Number 1’ in the UK’s Official Charts this week. His recent single ‘Lay Me Down’ sits atop the UK Singles Chart and his debut LP In The Lonely Hour has returned to the summit of the Official Albums Chart as well.

A re-recording of ‘Lay Me Down’ as a duet with soul singer John Legend was released as the official Comic Relief / Red Nose Day single for 2015, and his live performance of it on Friday night helped it achieve sales of 105,000. The song dislodged last week’s Number One ‘King’, by newcomers Years & Years.

Sean Penn has spoken of his “great affection” for his ex-wife Madonna, despite the well-publicised turbulence during their marriage.

In an interview with The Times ahead of the release of his new movie The Gunman, the former Oscar-winner spoke about his relationship with the pop legend during the ‘80s. After what’s been a pretty bad week for Madonna with that on-stage fall at the Brit Awards, there’s some good news at last. The Israeli man suspected of leaking tracks from her forthcoming album Rebel Heart, having hacked her computer, has been formally indicted.

39 year old Adi Lederman was arrested five weeks ago, and has now been officially charged by Israel’s magistrate courts on four counts of computer hacking and leaking unreleased music. The court documents were originally obtained by The Hollywood Reporter show the individual charges to be computer trespassing, prohibited secret monitoring and additional computer trespassing, copyright Infringement and obstructing an investigation.

Madonna's fall at the Brits should have been yesterday's news by now, but it turns out the singer suffered some consequences when she took her tumble. It turns out the singer got a bit of whiplash and raised concern with her staff. 

Even a stage vet like Madge isn't safe from the occasional wardrobe malfunction.

"I had a little bit of whiplash," she said later, while taping her interview on The Jonathan Ross Show. "I smacked the back of my head. And I had a man standing over me with a flashlight until about 3 a.m. to make sure I was compos mentis" (in other words, in full control of her facilities).

This year's Brit awards was the usual cringe-worthy affair, with even Ant and Dec failing to eradicate the memories of James Corden's reign in the vast soulless hangar that is the O2 Arena. It was the usual mix of "oh look it's Ed Sheeran!", dodgy presenting slots and predictable winners though one moment - one priceless moment - almost made it all worth it.

However, just seconds into Living for Love, things went very, very wrong. The 56-year-old was clearly struggling to untie her lengthy black cape though the dancers tasked with pulling the garment off-stage carried on regardless, resulting in Madge being flipped backwards down a flight of stairs into a crumpled poppy mess.
