Madonna causes controversy after posting a photograph on social media of her 13 year-old son, Rocco, holding a bottle of gin, but the singer urges it was just a joke and tells haters to "get a sense of humor."
It is fair to say Madonna, as a mom, would be pretty awesome, but could she have crossed the line with this recent incident?
The 55 year-old pop icon posted a photograph on her Instagram account of her 13 year-old son, Rocco, holding a bottle of alcohol this past Saturday (Jan 4th).
Discipline is important in a mother and son's relationship but it appears that she is being just alittle too relaxed.
Rocco Ritchie, the son of Guy Ritchie, is seen grasping a very large bottle of Tanqueray gin while wearing a red bandana and looking very smug as two of his pals, who are also young looking, hold bottles of Belvedere Vodka.
The snapshot was taken during the 'Like A Virgin' singer's skiing trip to Switzerland with her four children.
The caption read, "The party has just begun! Bring it! 2014."
After the pic was posted, an onslaught of criticism followed with one applaud follower writing, "I think that even though this may be a joke, it's still very irresponsible of her. I'd never condone this kind of behavior."
Another concerned fan added, "You gotta know what kind of signals it sends not only to her son, but also to kids around the world."
It didn't take long for Madonna to get wind of the public's negative reaction and she quickly responded in her next Instagram post on the following Sunday (Jan 5th).
The caption read, "No one was drinking we were just having fun! Calm down and get a sense of humor! Don't start the year off with judgement!"
