The golden-haired powerhouse released the popular track in 1994, and over 20 years later the blonde beauty has revealed the single will be transformed into a film.

Mariah Carey is determined to squeeze every conceivable drop out of her utterly ubiquitous festive hit ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’, announcing that a new CGI-animated movie will be based on the song.

The diva herself unveiled a teaser clip for the upcoming animated feature, the existence of which was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter later on Tuesday (March 21st) and is due to hit cinemas later in 2017.

The movie’s plot apparently expands on that of Mariah’s children’s book of the same name, which was released back in 2015. Directed by Guy Vasilovich from a script by Temple Mathews, Carey herself is set to narrate the film as well as hold down an executive production role, which features a voice cast including Henry Winkler, Lacey Chabert, Breanna Yde, Phil Morris, Laya Hayes and Keiko Agena.

Mariah Carey posted a message of support for ex husband Nick Cannon on Instagram, Sunday, defending him over "false allegations looming in the press.”

The singer did not state what the allegations against the father of her children were, however her post comes just days after Cannon hit out at the National Enquirer over a story they appear to be planning to run, alleging that Carey will be petitioning for full custody of their children because of Cannon's “erratic behaviour”.

Police are hunting for the person who vandalised Mariah Carey’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame over the weekend, after the paving slab was tagged with graffiti that read ‘?’ next to her name.

The 46 year old singer took a shellacking on social media after her live performance on New Year’s Eve in New York’s Times Square was beset by technical difficulties and saw Mariah suffer something of a meltdown on stage. She later blamed her production team for the mistakes, and even fired her creative director.

Mariah Carey has taken legal action against the promoters of her cancelled shows.

The 'Hero' hitmaker was set to perform in Chile and Argentina last year but has claimed she was forced to axe the gigs in South America due to late payments from FEG Entretenimientos and now she wants the firm to cough up for her the fees in total because they've allegedly breached the contract they agreed on.

However, the bitter legal battle is set to get sticky as FEG have fired back at the singer and accused her of harming their reputation by not performing.

Mariah Carey has been hospitalised with a severe case of the flu, according to reports. The multi-platinum selling singer was taken to hospital in New York City on Wednesday (December 2nd) after falling ill the previous day.

Hollywood's latest high-profile split is causing a flurry of uncomfortable rumours to fly around, as Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon separate after months of living apart and Cannon is quick to cover his Mariah themed tattoo.

We couldn't help but reel from the burn of the 'American Idol' host getting his tattoo covered so quickly. What was once a shoulder-spanning tribute to his wife is now becoming a large crucifix, which definitely suggests things are final between the pair. Cannon tried to keep things light when ET Online questioned him about it, insisting, 'When it's done, I'll show up to your house naked and I'm going to let you see all the work. I'm not even half way done with it.' He did admit, however, that the public spectacle that is his love life has been difficult to deal with. 'You want to say certain things or lash out', he said. 'Sometimes public opinion wants to paint you a certain way.'

President Obama is right in the heat of the 2012 election campaign, however it's nice to see that the leader of the free world can still take time out of his busy day to talk about the issues that really matter. The president called into Y100!'s Michael Yo Show to comment on the question of the day - the feud between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.

The president was quite diplomatic in answering the question of whether he could resolve the spat, stating that he believed the two would work out their differences. On being asked who he supported in the the pop star rivalry, he went with Mariah. "She's actually done some events for us. I've gotten to know her and Nick (Cannon), she's a wonderful lady. Nicki I don't know, but I've got her on my iPod," the leader of the free world commented.

For whatever reason, the fight between Carey and Minaj has been the talk of the internet as of late, with blows being exchanged in both directions. Minaj's recent outburst at Mariah Carey was followed by accusations from Carey's side that the other diva threatened to shoot her.

Nicki Minaj and Rihanna are expected to clean up at the 2012 American Music Awards, with four nominations apiece, reports Reuters.

Rihanna is top of the table for the main category, as she wards off competition from Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Maroon 5 and Canadian rapper Drake for artist of the year. She’s also in line for female soul/R&B artist and best album, and will lock horns with Minaj for the female pop/rock artist category. Minaj could be recognized for her album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, in both the pop/rock and rap/hip hop categories this year, and she’s nominated for favorite rap artist, too. Minaj has been attracting extra attention recently; her very public feud with Mariah Carey on American Idol culminated in a strange gun threat, but most seem sure the ‘diva-off’ is being played up by Fox to boost the talent show’s viewership.

Elsewhere in the awards, teenage singer Bieber landed three nominations this year, tying with British boy band One Direction, Maroon 5, Drake and R&B star Usher. Adele and Taylor Swift – who dominated the awards last year - received one nomination apiece. Swift will fight for female country artist against Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert, while Adele was nominated in the favorite adult contemporary artist category alongside Kelly Clarkson and Train. The AMA’s - which will be celebrating its 40th anniversary this year - are determined by fans through online voting, which starts on Tuesday. The ceremony and performance show will be broadcast live from Los Angeles on November 18.

Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey: a feud made in TV heaven, for the producers anyway. But now the rivalry has got so far – with Minaj threatening to shoot Carey – Nick Cannon has stepped in to give his opinion, reports The New York Daily News.

But it’s not the protective husband speech Mariah, and us, were perhaps expecting, with Cannon stating that he “wasn’t concerned” over Minaj’s supposed threat to “shoot” his better half. “I wasn't concerned," Cannon told E! News. "That's exactly what you called it was drama. With drama, it's theatrics. I'm not worried about that stuff." When he was asked about the supposed gun threat, Cannon laughed, saying: "I don't know. I wasn't there. It made for good news. It sounded good, right? Good job, Fox." His wife, Mariah, doesn’t seem so sure, and she’s reportedly beefed up the ranks of her security entourage, just be safe.

The controversy started (the gun controversy, anyway) when Barbara Walters told The View, “She said that when Nicki walked off the set, multiple people heard Nicki say, ‘If I had a gun I would shoot the bitch’”. Minaj has a history of threatening to shoot rivals: the 29-year-old super-star put out a lyrical hit on fellow rapper Remy Ma in a 2008 freestyle rap. Cannon is probably right; this whole thing has been blown out of proportion, and Fox are loving the extra exposure, but whilst gun threats are being bandied about, no one’s going to sit back and ignore it.

Mariah Carey has claimed that Nicki Minaj threatened to shoot her. The claims have been made public via Barbara Walters, who recounted a conversation that she'd had with Carey on the ABC show The View, regarding video footage of Nicki cussing Mariah during the filming of American Idol. Although the footage was not completely clear, Nicki could be heard referring to Mariah as "her f***ing highness and saying that she would no longer put up with her.

Fox News report that Walters had a phone conversation with Carey, who told her "when Nicki walked off the set, multiple people heard Nicki say, `If I had a gun I would shoot the (adjective unspoken by Walters) bitch." Apparently, after a meeting that both Nicki and Mariah attended, Nicki said to her newfound nemesis "I love you but we might fight again," to which Mariah answered "no, we will not." Walters also revealed that Mariah has felt the situation so severe that she has hired extra security, saying that she "doesn't feel comfortable, emotionally." She has said though, that she intends to continue with the show because she loves it and loves mentoring the contestants.

Nicki Minaj has been invited onto Barbara Walters' show to give her side of the story but has so far has responded with a string of Twitter posts, such as "Hey yAll. Lets just say nicki said smthn about a gun. Ppl will believe it cuz she's a black rapper. Lmao. I'll then hit up Barbara n milk it" and "I don't call tmz n Barbara Walters cuz I stand on my own two feet. Never needed an army. God is good. Insecurity is as cruel as the grave." American Idol has only been filming for a couple of weeks, though we've long known that Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj were likely to come to blows. If one of the two judges have already descended into threatening to shoot the other, though, heaven only knows what the live shows are going to be like!

Jennifer Lopez and her daughter Emme stole the show at Chanel’s Paris Fashion Week show yesterday (October 2, 2012). The former American Idol judge took her four year-old daughter to the Grand Palais, along with her boyfriend Casper Smart, to take in the new spring / summer 2013 collection from the label’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld.

Female First have published snaps of the couple, along with Emme, enjoying the catwalk show from the front row. Lopez was looking chic in a low-cut white dress and Emme wore a pink Chanel dress, with a white cardigan and pink shoes. They even managed to overshadow the fact that Kanye West was there to see the show, as well. As for the show itself, Lagerfeld used wind turbines to display his new collection; after the show, he said “It's more about the mood of the times, not something you have to translate. It's all about the wind, it's in the air. I started sketching in Central Park and it was so hot that I wanted fresh air.”

Lopez was looking relaxed – most likely glad that she has left the drama of American Idol behind her. We bet she’ll be glad that it was Mariah Carey and not her that was on the end of Nicki Minaj’s foul-mouthed rant, which made its way online today, courtesy of TMZ. Jennifer Lopez left the show at the end of last season, to pursue her pop career and seems to be enjoying some time with her children and boyfriend, as well.

Nicki Minaj has been caught cussing at Mariah Carey on American Idol. It was never going to be long before the two divas came to blows but we thought Carey would be the first to lose her cool. Apparently not! TMZ have posted footage of Nicki Minaj ranting at American Idol’s production staff and at Mariah herself. The footage is a little blurry and TMZ had to bleep out quite a large portion of what was coming out of Nicki’s mouth. You can see Keith Urban sat between Nicki and Mariah looking exasperated and Randy Jackson is stood at the end of the table, equally powerless.

Not all of the rant is audible but you can hear Nicki saying “I told them I'm not f**kin' putting up with her f**king highness over there. Figure it the f**k out. Figure it out… I'm not gonna sit here every f**king minute to have you come down and harass me every minute everyday.” According to the report, Nicki also threatened to “knock out” Mariah but said it before the camera was recording.

It’s hard to know what the American Idol bosses will be thinking about this latest drama between Nicki and Mariah. In essence, it will probably be good for the show as it’s bound to get more and more viewers intrigued and tuning in. After all, one of the main reasons they revamped the judging line-up was too boost falling viewer figures. What better than a foul-mouthed rant from a rapper in a pink wig to do that?

German fans of pop star Mariah Carey were in for more than they bargained for when the singing sensation accidentally flashed fans. Carey suffered from an accidental "wardrobe malfunction" during filming for a German television show, when her dress fell apart, accidentally flashing her breasts at stunned fans, before being rescued by stage-hands. 

While performing in Germany, Mariah Carey's dress fell open.

The star's experience was similar to that of Janet Jackson's infamous incident in 2004, which coined the phrase "wardrobe malfunction" in the first place. After briefly exposing herself, Carey was saved from further shame by the show's floor managers, who turned off the lights, allowing her to cover herself, recover her clothing, and leave the stage whilst hidden from view, according to a report from MTV news, who were present at the time.
