Mariah Carey’s estranged elder sister, Alison, has been arrested on a charge of prostitution in the town of Saugerties in New York state, it has been reported.

Local paper The Daily Freeman published a report at the weekend that Alison Carey, 55, was arrested after she solicited money from an undercover local police officer (posing as a customer) in exchange for sexual favours at an unidentified hotel in the town on Friday (August 26th).

The news about Carey’s role was revealed earlier this week at the unveiling of Carey's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame by the show’s creator, Lee Daniels. Mariah Carey chose a blazing hot day to receive the honour of a star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame, but there was more in store for fans as one of the ceremony’s special guests revealed that the singing superstar would be making a guest appearance in the second season of ‘Empire’!

At the unveiling of the 2,556th star at the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Argyle Avenue on Wednesday morning (August 5th), she was accompanied by her four year old twins Moroccan and Monroe. As small children tend to do, both threatened to upstage the Grammy Award-winning singer by taking turns to grab the microphone and adorably proclaim “I love you, mommy!”

Singer Mariah Carey has apparently bagged herself a billionaire, as the diva is reportedly dating Australian businessman James Packer. The pair have been pictured walking hand in hand together in Italy on Friday, amid reports that they are on an 'extended holiday.’

Mariah is said to be dating James Packer, an Australian billionaire.

In the pictures, published by Britain’s Daily Mail, Carey and Packer are showing enjoying a romantic hand-in-hand walk through the cobbled streets of Capri in the south of Italy. Carey was dressed in a low cut red and orange maxi dress for the stroll, accessorising with some designer shades while wearing her hair in loose curls.

Mariah Carey was forced to cancel one of her Las Vegas shows and it was only a week into her residency. The 45-year-old singer embarked on her Las Vegas residency, entitled Mariah Carey #1s, on 6th May. The series of concerts is being held at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas but some unfortunate fans will not be seeing Carey after she was forced to cancel Wednesday night's (13th May) show due to illness. The concert will not be rescheduled, according to reports.

Two months or so into his new career as an American talk show host, James Corden has been talking about settling into the job, coping with the transatlantic move and the reaction to his show, which has been very popular so far.

36 year old Corden made his debut as host of ‘The Late Late Show’ on CBS at the end of March after replacing the retiring Craig Ferguson, and quickly won plaudits for his warm, friendly presenting style. Speaking with Heat magazine, he said he was “gobsmacked” by the response from audiences.

Mariah Carey began her Las Vegas residency on Wednesday night (May 6th) in true diva style, treating fans to all 18 of her US number one hits as well as new single ‘Infinity’. But along with the singer’s impressive back catalogue, the audience were also given a full on Vegas spectacular, featuring six costume changes from Mariah, a jet ski and a revolving bed.

Mariah opened the show with her first chart-topper, 1990 power ballad ‘Vision of Love’ dressed in a sequin gown featuring one of the singer’s trademark plunging necklines. In perhaps the most audacious and downright ridiculous move the music business has witnessed in the last few years, singer Robin Thicke has announced his new album will carry the title of Paula, which by some strange coincidence just happens to be the name of his estranged wife- actress Paula Patton.

To say such a public declaration of love is cringe-worthy would be an understatement, it is such a trite attempt at reconciling with his wife that is seems like something straight out of Spinal Tap. You can imagine the album title sitting quite comfortably alongside the likes of Smell The Glove and Shark Sandwich. As if that wasn’t irksome enough, Thicke’s debut single from the album is entitled "Get Her Back” and it sees the ageing crooner positively straining to exude as much heartfelt sincerity as he can before he gives himself a heart attack.

Mariah Carey was beaten to the Billboard 200 top spot this week after her record "Me: I Am Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse' entered at No.3 with 58,000. It matched the effort of the last non-holiday studio effort, 2009's Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel, which debuted at No.3 with 168,000.
