I think this could be a mistake from Def Jam, making “Get Your Number” the main cut this single. Yes it is good and one of the best tracks on the album, sampling UK soul act Imagination’s 80’s pop soul classic “Just An Illusion” to good effect. But the mistake is not the fact of releasing it, but then not realising just how huge “Shake It Off”” is in the UK. Every woman from the tip to the top of the UK knows every word to this monster hit and I’m not just talking on the urban

scene because in the cross over world it is no different. I have scene cars full of girls sitting at traffic lights singing along to this monster hit. It is that big Stateside it Mariah looks set to knock herself off of the top of the US charts. Thankfully they have kept “Shake It Off” on the single but not making it the main track could come back to haunt Def Jam UK because I think it would have been a much bigger hit with “Shake It Off” as the lead single.
