Mariah Carey will do nine more dates for her Las Vegas residency.

The 46-year-old singer has been performing at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace for 17 months and has now decided that she'll do a few more shows before she'll bring her time in Sin City to a close.

A statement posted on her website said: ''Mariah has announced one final set of dates for her '#1 To Infinity' shows at Caesar's Colosseum in Las Vegas, scheduled for Spring 2017! [...] If you haven't had the opportunity to catch this spectacular show, now is your chance. You won't want to miss Mariah #1 To Infinity, a special performance featuring all 18 of Mariah's classic #1 songs. (sic)''

The 'Hero' hitmaker has been performing her '#1 To Infinity' show - which sees her perform her 100 chart-topping singles - at the glamorous event since May 2015 and will have racked up 50 shows at the venue by the time her residency is up at the beginning of next year.

John Nelson Sr, vice president of AEG Live Las Vegas, said in a statement: ''Mariah is a phenomenal talent with ecstatic, global appeal. We adore Mariah and are honoured she has called The Colosseum home over the last two years. We look forward to working together again in the future.''

The final dates for the 'We Belong Together' singer's residency will take place on April 26, 28 and 29 and May 2, 5, 6, 9, 12 and 13.

Tickets will be available from Friday, September 23 from the Colosseum's website.

The end of Mariah's residency will no doubt be bittersweet for the pop megastar, who said she was ''excited'' about the opportunity when it was announced in January 2015.

She said: ''It's a new chapter for me and I'm just excited about it.''
