Reports initially suggested Carey was suffering from bronchitis and Carey later confirmed the reports via Instagram. She explained that she had been advised by a doctor not to sing for a few days.

'Hey guys.. I've been fighting bronchitis for the past few days.. almost better but on mandatory vocal rest per doctor's orders,' Carey wrote on Instagram. 'I'm so sorry to cancel tonight's show but I promise to make it up to you!!! Love you always, MC'
