'The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story' Labour Day Premiere Date Set

If you ever wondered what it was like filming Saved by the Bell, you'll have the opportunity to find out in an upcoming Lifetime movie.

The upcoming movie is entitled, according to Buzzfeed, The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story. The film will air on Lifetime over the Labour Day weekend in September.

Saved by the Bell, a creation of Disney, followed the lives of a group of high school students and their principal. The series which aired between 1989 and 1993 starred Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Zack, Dustin Diamond as Screech, Lark Voorhies as Lisa, Dennis Haskins as Mr. Belding, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen as Kelly, Elizabeth Berkley as Jessie, and Mario Lopez as Slater. Although the show only ran for four seasons, it spawned two spin-offs, Saved by the Bell: The College Years and Saved by the Bell: The New Class, and looked on with fond nostalgia by those who watched it.

Tiffani-Amber Thiessen played Kelly in the series.

The upcoming film stars Dylan Everett (How to be Indie) as Zack, Sam Kindseth (Shameless US) as Sreech, Julian Works (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) as Slater, Alyssa Lynch as Kelly, Tiera Skovbye (Supernatural) as Jessie and Taylor Russell (Blink) as Lisa.

Although the characters and actors may have appeared relatively wholesome, Diamond released an autobiography in 2009 which includes some fairly scandalous stories. According to 11points.com, these include the cast and crew members having sexual relations with one another and swopping partners on an alarmingly regular basis. There's also mention of drug and even verbal and sexual abuse. Granted some of the claims are farfetched but if there's even a kernel of truth it's certainly going to make an interesting if not disturbing storyline.

The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story will premiere on Lifetime at 9pm on Monday 1st September.
