Childhood: Mark Ruffalo was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Marie Rose and Frank Lawrence Ruffalo Jr. His mother was a hairdresser and his father was a construction worker. Mark was raised as a Roman Catholic and attended Catholic school, as did his two sisters Tania and Nicole and brother Scott.

As a teenager, Mark Ruffalo was raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia and he graduated from First Colonial High School, before moving with his family to San Diego, then Los Angeles.

Whilst in Los Angeles, Ruffalo took classes at the Stella Adler Conservatory, which counts Marlon Brando, Warren Beatty and Robert de Niro amongst its alumni. He went on to form the Orpheus Theatre Company.

After collaborating with the writer Kenneth Lonergan, Ruffalo eventually ended up playing the role of Terry, alongside Laura Linney in Lonergan's Oscar-nominated film You Can Count on Me in 2000.

The success of this role led to a number of others, including the lead in XX/XY along with Kathleen Robertson and a role opposite Sarah Polley in My Life Without Me. In 2003, Ruffalo starred in In The Cut, alongside Meg Ryan and then took a role the following year in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which starred Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet and Kirsten Dunst.

The Cast Of 'Avengers: Infinity War' Cannot Be Trusted

Chris Hemsworth Tom Holland Mark Ruffalo

It must be extremely difficult to be working for Marvel on a film like 'Avengers: Infinity War'; trying to keep everything shrouded in secrecy when the press and fans are constantly pushing for spoilers. It doesn't help when the actors are leaking information and stealing stuff during filming.

First of all, the props department had to do everything they could to stop the actors stealing everything that wasn't nailed down. Chris Hemsworth managed to steal five Thor hammers from the set in previous films, which he confessed made it 'very difficult to get another hammer from the next movie'.

'Grandpa' Mark Ruffalo Explains His Big Thor Live Stream Mistake

Mark Ruffalo

Mark Ruffalo was left super embarrassed and worried for his job last month when he accidentally live streamed the audio of the first ten minutes of 'Thor: Ragnarok' at the premiere after failing to properly end his live video on his phone. He spoke out about the incident on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'.

The 49-year-old who plays the Hulk in the new movie had never used Instagram live in his life, and probably never would have if his bosses hadn't persuaded him to do a little backstage video ahead of the 'Thor: Ragnarok' screening. In other words, it was totally not his fault.

Thor: Ragnarok Review

Very Good

The most riotously enjoyable Marvel movie yet, this action epic benefits hugely from the decision to let wacky New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi loose with the characters. In many ways, this film has the same comical sensibilities as his classics What We Do in the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Except on a much larger scale with massive special effects. Yet even with all this action, there's not a moment of actual suspense, which is a growing problem in a movie universe in which the characters need to survive unscathed.

Ragnarok is a prophecy about the end of time, specifically the death of King Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and the destruction of Asgard. And it has just been triggered, stopping Odin's sons Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in their tracks with the news that they have an older sister, Hela (Cate Blanchett), the self-proclaimed goddess of death. As she brutally asserts her claim to the throne, the brothers find themselves dumped on the planet Sakaar. Loki mischievously worms his way into the favour of the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), who sends Thor into the coliseum to fight the champion, namely his old friend Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). As Thor convinces Hulk's alter-ego David Banner to return with him to Asgard to stop Hela, he also needs Asgard's last Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), a tetchy warrior who is reluctant to work with him.

Mark Ruffalo Accidentally Live Streamed 'Thor: Ragnarok'

Mark Ruffalo

Mark Ruffalo committed a major cinematic gaffe by accidentally live streaming the audio for the beginning of 'Thor: Ragnarok' at the Los Angeles premiere earlier this week. Thankfully, he realised his mistake only a few minutes into the movie so there were no big spoilers for fans.

The 49-year-old actor had been excitedly live streaming on the red carpet at the premiere on Tuesday (October 10th 2017) but, so distracted was he by the buzz of the atmosphere, he forgot to stop filming once he got inside the movie theatre. Don't you know you're supposed to turn your cell phone off, Mark?! Fans ended up hearing at least 10 muffled minutes of 'Thor: Ragnarok' from his pocket.

Thor: Ragnarok Trailer

With his friends and his hammer, Thor is virtually unbeatable by any creature in the known universe. But what about when he doesn't have either of those things? It only takes a run-in with afterlife goddess Hela for his hammer to be destroyed, apparently beyond repair. And when he is kidnapped by her people and taken to the planet Sakaar, he has no choice but to enter into a gladiator match to save the people of Asgard from Ragnarök; the fate of total destruction. To his initial delight, and to the confusion of everyone in the arena, his opponent turns out to be none other than the Incredible Hulk. But when he realises that this Hulk is hell-bent on destroying him, he realises that he has no choice but to fight his supposed friend to the death.

Mark Ruffalo Crushes Solo 'Hulk' Movie Dreams

Mark Ruffalo

Mark Ruffalo is undoubtedly a fan favourite member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing a sense of realism and relatability to his role as Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk. Ever since his debut in the role, there have been calls for him to get his own solo flick as the monstrous Avenger, but if recent comments are anything to go by, that's not something that will be happening any time soon.

Though there is technically a solo Hulk film in the MCU with Edward Norton's take on the character in 'The Incredible Hulk', the movie came at a time before Ruffalo's signing up to the brand. Fans would prefer to forget about this addition to the universe and enjoy a brand new one, with Ruffalo front-and-centre.
