Glee’ star Mark Salling has been arrested for possession of child pornography on his personal computer, it has been confirmed by police.

Crime Watch Daily originally broke the story early on Tuesday morning (December 29th) that the Los Angeles Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Unit served a search warrant on an address in Sunland, California, a property apparently solely occupied by the 33 year old actor but officially belongs to a Jonathan Hernandez, who has been a roommate of Salling as far back as 2011.

According to a subsequent report by TMZ, Salling had more than a thousand indecent images downloaded to his computer. Police also seized other electronic devices, such as tablets and cellphones, in addition to taking him to a police station to be processed.

The same publication claims that an ex-girlfriend tipped off the police initially, who have conducted investigations subsequently to ascertain that the information wasn’t a revenge ploy.

The arrest was confirmed by a LAPD spokesperson, Officer Ricardo Hernandez, later in the day. “There was a search warrant served early this morning,” Hernandez said in a brief statement to the Huffington Post. “He was booked for possession of child pornography.”

The actor came to prominence by playing the jock character Noah ‘Puck’ Puckerman on Fox smash hit show ‘Glee’ from 2009 to 2015. His character was discontinued in 2013, but soon afterwards the network announced that his character would be returning as a recurring guest star. He’s also had a handful of other guest appearances in various other TV shows and movies.

Salling has had dealings with the law in the past, only this year managing to settle a long-running case in which he was accused of sexual battery by a former girlfriend who claimed he forced her to have sex without protection. His representatives have not responded to any requests for comment from any publications at the time of writing.
