Ingels, born Martin Ingerman, passed away on Wednesday (21Sep15) at the Tarzana Medical Center in California after suffering a stroke.

His wife, The Partridge Family actress Jones, said in a statement, "He often drove me crazy, but there's not a day I won't miss him and love him to my core".

Ingels is best known for his co-starring role in short-lived 1960s TV sitcom I'm DICkens, He's Fenster. He also enjoyed roles on The DICk Van Dyke Show, Bewitched, The Addams Family, Baywatch and Murder, She Wrote.

He loaned his voice to hundreds of cartoons and commercials, and later launched a talent agency.

He met Jones at a party and they married in 1977. Their tumultuous relationship, which resulted in a number of separations, was the subject of their 1990 autobiography Shirley & Marty: An Unlikely Love Story. They never had children, and Jones had three boys from her first marriage.
