Pop hunk Matt Goss was so upset about the drunk driver who killed his sister CAROLYN in 1988 he nearly turned to drugs.

Matt and his twin brother LUKE formed the band Bros in the late '80s and were on the first day of their European tour when their tour manager pushed them into a car and raced them back home to their mother, who told them a drunk had killed himself crashing into his little sister's car, killing her and her best friend.

Matt says, "I was sick with worry but our tour manager wouldn't tell us what was wrong. I knew something terrible had happened. Mum broke the news 'Carolyn died last night'. I broke down in tears. It was one of the most horrific moments of my life.

"My beautiful sister had been taken away. Unbelievably I had to go back to work two days later. I had to do a load of TV interviews and performances because our single had hit number one. Carolyn missed all of it.

"I also felt guilty I hadn't invited her to come on tour with me. I kept thinking of all the things I could have done to prevent her from being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"There were quite a few times when I felt I couldn't cope with her death and I nearly turned to drugs. I never did though, I'd always think of Carolyn and how she'd love to experience just one breath of fresh air."
