Matthew Lewis, the 25-year-old actor best known for his role as Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films, has stripped down for the cover of Attitude magazine. Those who remember Lewis in the films should steel themselves for the incredible physical transformation he has undergone since the last film in 2011. During the past four years, Lewis has seriously bulked up and, in the series of pictures for the magazine, he is sporting some impressive muscles.

There was an inkling of the beginnings of Lewis' transformation at the last premiere of the Harry Potter film franchise and fans were pleasantly surprised to see Lewis stepping away from his role of Neville and the look which was expected for the character. Fans praised Lewis for his appearance and this was something he immediately picked up on, although he still remains modest about his good looks.

"I was excited I guess to go on the red carpet on the release of the last film and be me, and not to have to have the fat suit under my t-shirt. It was quite an exciting buzz," Lewis said in the interview of the noticeable beginnings of his transformation.

"I was 21, I was like "yeah, this'll be cool!" It was never meant to be a "hey everyone, look at me!" but it was nice to be able to go and be myself. And then obviously a lot of attention focused on it, which I didn't expect at all. I've never considered myself to be good-looking at all. Just average."

We weren't the only ones to be shocked at Lewis' altered appearance. However, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling was less than impressed and expressed her shock at seeing the actor she had known since his early teens wearing very little for the cover.

Rowling joked that the shock was not as bad as seeing Daniel Radcliffe on stage in Equus, the play he performed on stage in 2007 and for which he was required to appear naked, but a warning was definitely needed!

Lewis soon apologised on Twitter and Rowling jokingly responded, promising she would always support Lewis' decisions but that he should really put some clothes on!
