Matthew Morrison is set to duet with British rocker Elton John on his forthcoming solo album.
Matthew Morrison, the American actor and star of Glee, has reportedly recorded a duet with Elton John which will feature on his highly anticipated debut album, reports USA Weekend.
The collaboration was intended to be kept under wraps, but Elton recently revealed the news. Despite the leak, Morrison has described working with the singer-songwriter as "an amazing experience", adding, "We were in the studio, I'm singing and there's Elton John next to me. What a trip! He's just incredible. I just feel lucky and fortunate to be associated with him". Matthew plays the good-hearted music teacher 'Mr Schuester' in the hit HBO musical-comedy and he has previously had starring roles in a number of Broadway productions such as 'Hairspray', 'Footloose' and 'The Rocky Horror Show'. The solo album is set for release in May 2011 and when asked to describe it one word, he said, "awesome", before adding, "It's a labor of love. I'm at the point where I'm just ready to let go. I put a lot into it and it's great learning the whole songwriting process and what that's about. I have such a respect for that, as well as getting to work with some really fantastic songwriters and other singers like Elton"
Matthew Morrison also spoke briefly about what fans can expect from the forthcoming episodes of Glee, saying, "Some really cool stuff coming up with Mr. Schuester and Coach Beiste. He hasn't really had a best friend before, so that's turning out to be a really cool friendship that's going on there".
