The rapper is portrayed in Straight Outta Compton by Aldis Hodge, but the actor is not featured in the new promotional material, which focuses on N.w.a.'s more prominent members, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E. The band's producer DJ Yella, played by Neil Brown, Jr., is also absent from the advertising footage.

Taking to Twitter.com on Wednesday (10Jun15) to blast studio executives, he writes, "Man f**k these b**ches at universal pictures leaving me out the movie trailers tryin to rewrite history. When I don't promote this s**t yall know why... (sic)."

He continues, "When you have b**ches work on a hip hop film that don't know s**t about hip hop this is what happens. How the hell u leave me out after all The work I put into them records (sic). It's disrespectful to me, my family and most of all my FANS."

Ice Cube's son, O'Shea Jackson, Jr., was cast as his father, while Jason Mitchell plays the late Eazy-E, and Corey Hawkins portrays Dr. Dre.

The trailers also feature Ruthless Records executive and N.W.A manager Jerry Heller, played by Paul Giamatti.

Straight Outta Compton is set for release in the U.S. in August (15).
