McFly To Experiment With Next Record

McFly Tom Fletcher McBusted Busted

McFly have teased that their new music could be a departure from their previous rock pop sound.

The 'Obviously' hitmakers - comprised of Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter - are feeling less ''pressured'' to produce a record of a ''particular'' style and so they've decided to experiment.

Tom, 31, said: ''There's been such a big gap between McFly's albums, that now we're at the stage where we're not tied down to a particular sound.

Johnny Depp Has Helped Form A New Supergroup - But What Other Superbands Are Out There?

Johnny Depp Alice Cooper Joe Perry McBusted Jack White Audioslave

What do Johnny Deep and Alice Cooper have in common? The desire to create a very exciting new supergroup it would seem. Eclectic actor Depp has joined forces with rock stars Alice Copper, Joe Perry, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum to form The Hollywood Vampires - a collaboration announced at the beginning of this year that will debut with two live Los Angeles gigs in September and perform Rock in Rio in Brazil later in the same month.

Johnny DeppJohnny Depp plans to wow audiences with his rock music skills in Hollywood Vampires

The addition of Johnny Depp as a musical accompaniment may sound strange to those who remember the Pirates of the Caribbean actor eschewing the idea of thespians crossing over to the world of music.

McBusted - Barclaycard Arena, Birmingham - March 2015 Live Review

Fresh from their success in 2014, pop's favourite supergroup McBusted returned to Birmingham for more nostalgia-infused frolics, and an attempt to display that their original material compares favourably with their previous guises of McFly and Busted.

McBusted - Barclaycard Arena, Birmingham - March 2015 Live Review

An opening montage of retro movies, ranging from the 'Karate Kid' to 'Back to the Future', this was a cleverly well-drilled musical cash machine making sure the show was high on style and peripheral amusements - a later arcade game contest ensued on 'Streetfighter', with even the most cynical of observers amused by Blanka's narrow triumph over Ken.

Bursting onto stage with exuberant vitality, they opened with 'Air Guitar'. Their song titles would benefit from a little imagination. Nobody expects them to match the song-naming heights of Morrissey, but a little ambitious wordplay wouldn't do any harm to their popularity, or would it? After all, songs such as 'What I Go to School For', 'Five Colours in her Hair' and 'Shine a Light' are loved for their simple melodies and life-affirming lyrics.

McBusted - McBusted Album Review

When Busted and McFly announced they would be joining forces as the aptly-titled supergroup, McBusted, nobody could have predicted the massive success that they'd experience in such a short amount of time. In year one of the McBusted saga, the band found themselves selling out worldwide tours, and they've even got a documentary out too. With another huge tour already scheduled for 2015, it's safe to say that not only have they made 2014 their year, but they'll take full-control over next year, too - and the release of their debut album is only the icing on the sugary sweet McBusted cake.

McBusted - McBusted Album Review

Ever since the formation of McBusted, it was pretty obvious that they were going to put out an album someday, but it raised a very important question: is it going to sound more like Busted or McFly? Turns out, the 12-track self-titled record is a beautifully blended combination of both, and it makes for some of the best pop-rock that'll be heard all year. Opener and first single, 'Air Guitar', has the songwriting presence of McFly, but vocals that are highlighted by Busted's Matt Willis and James Bourne.

Some of the best tracks on the album are the ones that Bourne had his hands in the most. 'What Happened To Your Band', a track that was originally written for his former pop band Son of Dork, is re-created brilliantly from the live version that was played so many years ago, while  'Riding on My Bike', Bourne's personal favorite, has a flair to it that can be compared to his electro-pop solo product, Future Boy. The album's collaborations are also pretty noteworthy, as the band linked up with Mark Hoppus on the Blink-182-esque 'Hate Your Guts' and 'Sensitive Guy', with Hoppus providing his ever-inviting vocals to the former. Additionally, All Time Low's Alex Gaskarth is credited on the addicting 'Get Over It', and Weezer's Rivers Cuomo's influence is plastered all over 'Getting It Out'.

All You Need To Know About McBusted's New Album

McBusted McFly Busted James Bourne Matt Willis

Only a year has passed since the epic announcement that former Busted members, James Bourne and Matt Willis, would join forces with UK popstars McFly, and its been a pretty wild ride for the McBusted group since then. It only makes sense now that things get even crazier as the band has finally announced their debut album, set for release on December 3.

McBustedMcBusted are releasing their new album next month

The self-titled record, which will be distributed via Island Records, will be the first official McBusted release, but it'll also be the first album in general from all of the guys in quite a while. The last we heard from McFly was 2010's Above the Noise, while James Bourne released his Future Boy solo album in the same year as well. It's more of a musical homecoming for Matt Willis, however, as his last material came in the form of his excellent solo effort back in 2006.

McBusted Unveil New Single 'Air Guitar'

McBusted

Well, it was only a matter of time, wasn’t it? Having embarked on a hugely profitable arena tour earlier this year, McBusted have unveiled their first single in their own right, called ‘Air Guitar’.

McBusted have announced the existence of a debut single under their own name, 'Air Guitar'

It’s a pretty straightforward play to the gallery, a fun but forgettable pop-rock romp that gives fans exactly what they’d expect. Nice perky melody, though, we have to say.

The Vamps And Backstreet Boys Join Supergroup McBusted At BST Hyde Park 2014

McBusted Backstreet Boys The Vamps

Hyde Park's annual Barclaycard British Summer Time concert embarked on its first string of 2014 shows last week (3 - 6 July 2014) with a flurry of much-loved pop, rock and indie acts hitting London for the event.

Sunday was definitely one of the most anticipated days for BST Hyde Park with headliners McBusted rocking out the stage following their first nationwide tour as a supergroup.

The band, who are all the members of McFly and two of the members from defunct rock band Busted (Matt Willis and James Bourne), united last year and made their overseas live debut supporting One Direction on their 'Where We Are Tour' last month.

Charlie Simpson Says He Didn't See Busted Bandmates For Seven Years

Charlie Simpson Matt Willis James Bourne McBusted Tom Fletcher

Charlie Simpson has finally opened up on a few issues that have been plaguing him for years - namely, his relationship with his former Busted bandmates Matt Willis and James Bourne, who have since formed supergroup McBusted. Speaking this morning on ITV's Lorraine, the now solo singer and guitarist was happy to chat about his life lately.

On having recently re-discovered his friendship with Bourne and Willis, Simpson said. "I hadn't seen them for a long time, six or seven years, and it's been really nice. Almost rebuilding our relationship so I'm pleased - everyone is in a good place, everyone is enjoying doing what they're doing and it's all good."

However, Charlie made sure to point out that his 2005 departure, subsequent folding of the band, and seven years of not seeing Matt and James wasn't due to hard feelings between the group members. "There was never any animosity between me, Matt and James. They're doing the supergroup now and I'm really happy for them," he revealed.
