Veteran rocker Meat Loaf is battling through the pain as he attempts to recover from knee surgery in time to kick off his upcoming tour.

The Bat Out Of Hell star checked into hospital and underwent an operation on 19 November (12), and he has since been undergoing intensive physiotherapy and rehabilitation treatment.

Meat Loaf is due to kick off his farewell tour in the U.K. on 5 April (13), and he is working hard to recover from the surgery in time for the gigs.

A post on his Facebook.com page, reads, "Still in pain but rest assured, it ain't affecting Meat's creative brain. The ideas are flowing for this tour."

The shows will begin in Newcastle, England on 5 April (13) and end in Cardiff, Wales on 21 April (13). The 65 year old has previously insisted this tour will be his last.
