Meek Mill will be spending the foreseeable future behind bars.

The 27 year-old rapper has been sentenced to spend three to six months in prison due to violating his probation that stemmed from a 2009 drug and gun case.

Mill, real name Robert Williams, was apprehended on Friday (July 11th), and taken to the city prison complex in Northeast Philadelphia by order of a judge, reported the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Common Pleas Court Judge Genece E. Brinkley was reportedly infuriated at times during the four-hour hearing due to Mill continuing to book concerts between July 11th and August 11th, even though she ordered him to concentrate on resolving his legal issues.

"After all these years of me trying to help him move his career forward . . . I believe this defendant is basically thumbing his nose at me," Brinkley told him.

The hip-hop star and his lawyer Gary Silver attempted several times to convince the judge not to hand down such a severe sentence and to let him continue to work, proclaiming that too many people rely on his financial support.

Mill apparently spends $80,000 to $90,000 a month to aid his mother, sister, son and other friends, as well as himself.

"It took me 15 years to get here and this will be extremely damaging to my life," he said in court.

Brinkley noted the dismay he has caused for the past two years for constantly hounded probation officers to resolve the terms and limitations of his probation, mainly due to the rap star's growing international schedule.
