Fact: Actress Megan Hilty is returning to Broadway for the first time in six years. The Smash star will hit the stage for a revival of Michael Frayn's 1982 comedy Noises Off, alongside Andrea Martin, Rob MCClure and Campbell Scott. The production, which was last performed on the New York stage in 2001, begins previews in December (15) at the American Airlines Theatre. Hilty last appeared on the Great White Way in 2009's 9 to 5: The Musical.

Fact: Singer Josh Groban and Broadway stars Megan Hilty and Audra McDonald are among the celebrities lined up to honour late composer Marvin Hamlisch during a special New Year's Eve show, hosted by the New York Philharmonic on 31 December (12). The Big Apple event was originally due to be headlined by Hamlisch, who passed away in August (12), and now the party will serve as a celebration of his work.
