American hitmaker Meghan Trainor has confirmed a match made in pop songwriting heaven by revealing that she’s written a song with One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles.

The 21 year old dropped by BBC Radio 1 on Tuesday morning and told host Nick Grimshaw that the “cute acoustic love” song is called ‘Someday Maybe’. Grimshaw was asking Trainor about an earlier interview with ‘The Sun’ in which she indicated that the Styles writing hook-up had happened.

The pair apparently composed the track on Meghan’s ukulele. “I wrote a song with Harry. It was unbelievable. He’s a very, very talented songwriter, I was very impressed. I was worried he’d just be a 20-year-old boy so I walked in with a prepared verse and chorus. He gave me very poetic, mature lyrics,” she said. “I was like, ‘Well, damn, Harry, you know what love is.’”

However, she didn’t confirm when, or if at all, the track would be released, but given the high profile nature of the collaboration it’s inconceivable that her record label (Epic) won’t be tempted to polish up the track for commercial use.

In other Trainor news, her first ever UK tour was announced on Wednesday. Her four-date schedule will begin in Manchester on April 9th 2015, before hitting Glasgow, Birmingham and ending in London on April 13th.

Trainor shot to prominence in 2014 with her debut track ‘All About That Bass’, which made British chart history by becoming the first song to reach the Top 40 on the back of streaming alone. It later climbed to Number 1 when it went on official sale. Her debut album Title was released on January 9th in the US, and is rumoured to be poised to knock the mighty Taylor Swift off the top of the charts when the Billboard 200 is announced on Wednesday.
