The star of the original Mad Max films was recently granted permission to take the youngster - his daughter from his brief romance with Russian singer-songwriter OKSANA GRIGORIEVA - Down Under by a California judge, and he has wasted little time in getting her there.

Dad and daughter were spotted in Sydney on Wednesday (15Jul15) after little Lucia, five, flew in on a dawn flight from California with a nanny.

Her arrival comes just a month after her dad sought permission in a California court to take her to Australia, while he scouts locations for upcoming war movie Hacksaw Ridge, Gibson's first directing gig since 2006's Apocalypto.

Lucia is the actor/director's youngest child - he has another daughter and six sons from his marriage to Robyn Gibson, who the star divorced in 2009.
