In Mad Max: Fury Road, The Dark Knight Rises star takes on the titular character made famous by Gibson in three films, and the original Max turned out to support him at the new movie's unveiling in L.A.

Gibson walked the red carpet and posed for pictures with British actor Hardy, as well as George Miller, the director who helmed the first three Mad Max films as well as the new blockbuster.

Mad Max: Fury Road is set to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival in France next week (beg11May15) ahead of its release.
