Quite possible one of the most reassuring female voices in music at the moment, Melody Gardot returns to the music scene with the stunning new track, and accompanying video, for 'Mira.' The track will appear on her upcoming third album The Absence, which will be released on May 28th via Decca.
The song is a heartfelt document of her recent travels across the world and was written by Melody and produced by the world renowned Heitor Pereira, who is known not just for his work as a guitarist for the likes of Simply Red and Sting, but also for his work scoring films such as Despicable Me and Its Complicated. The story of the video is as moving as the song itself as Melody and director Aaron Platt left their mark on the filming location of Rio de Janeiro. So touched by the people she met there she decided to give something back and not only donated instruments to the school featured, but also gave all the children staring roles alongside herself in the video.
The Absence is the follow up to the widely received 2009 bestseller My One and Only Thrill, which reached sales of over 2 million in France and Sweden alone.
