Actress Mia Maestro has become the latest Twilight star to show off her singing skills on record by releasing a new album she recorded in Iceland.

Her debut, titled Si Agua, features a collaboration with Damien Rice, and offers "a romantic blend of Latin, American and European culture".

Recorded in English and Spanish, the album will be released next week (07Oct14). The singer/songwriter begins a residency at Los Angeles' Hotel Cafe on Wednesday night (01Oct14).

Talking about her new album, Maestro, who portrayed Carmen Denali in the final two Twilight films, tells Wenn, "A lot of songs on the album have to do with my experiences in the water, or melodies that I've come up with when I'm on a boat or in the middle of nowhere or taking some quiet time on my own."

Fellow Twilight stars Nikki Reed and Robert Pattinson have also released music in recent years, while Jackson Rathbone fronts the group 100 Monkeys.
