Singer Michael Bolton fronted a rally in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday (26Jun12) and used his fame to urge politicians to crack down on domestic violence.
The When a Man Loves a Woman hitmaker has been a vocal supporter of the Violence Against Women Act for almost two decades and he hit the U.S. capital to voice his concerns for the future of the legislation.
Urging members of Congress to reauthorise the anti-domestic violence law, the father of three daughters said, "I'm surrounded by women. They basically own me. But the thought of violence being directed toward them, violence in their home, is unacceptable."
The rally was part of a National Organization for Women initiative.
