Everyone knows how committed Batman is to his cause, he spends his days in the Batcave plotting different ways to save Gotham from the constant threat The Joker and his other cronies currently hold over the city. The one person who knows Batman better than anyone is his butler Alfred but his ageing helper has grown increasingly worried about his master's current mental state.

Batman is far from enthused and literally knows nothing about the kid who's living in Wayne Manor but when Dick accidentally stumbles upon the Batcave and all of Batman's elaborate toys, he can't believe his luck! First job is to find a suitable costume and young Dick takes no time re-working a Reggae style outfit.

Michael Cera Does 'Dejected Teen' Really Well In 'This Is Our Youth'

Michael Cera

Michael Cera is proving his worth on the stage in a new production of Kenneth Lonergan's critically acclaimed This Is Our Youth. The show opened at the Cort Theatre on Thursday (September 11) and critics were unanimous in their praise for the young star, best known for Juno and Superbad.

Michael Cera Pulls A Beyonce, Releases (Really Good) Surprise Album

Michael Cera Jonah Hill

Um, did anyone else not know that Michael Cera is a musician? Outside of Scott Pilgrim, I mean. Not only that, he’s actually really good, if his new indie album, True That, is anything to go by. Cera pulled a Beyonce and released the album on his Bandcamp without any prior announcement. Those who want to get acquainted with Cera’s musical talents can buy True That for $7 or stream it for free.

Did I mention you can stream it for free? [Getty/Larry Busacca]

Oh and did we mention it’s really very good? Cera relies a lot on dissonance, which sorts itself into melody later in the songs and it’s a really engaging listen. It’s a quiet, chilled out mix of songs with some (dare we say it?) Sufjan Stephens influences and plenty of cinematic references, probably to remind us of Cera’s day job.

The Oscars 2014

All eyes are on Hollywood this weekend as the Academy Awards take place this Sunday night. The least predictable Oscars in years, there are multiple possible winners in most of the major categories, as Gravity, 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle vie for Best Picture and Alfonso Cuaron and Steve McQueen contend for Best Director. We relive some of the the biggest upsets in Oscars history here.

Other too-close races include actor (Matthew Mcconaughey vs Chiwetel Ejiofor), supporting actor (Jared Leto vs Barkhad Abdi) and supporting actress (Lupita Nyong'o vs Jennifer Lawrence). The only sure thing is Cate Blanchett for Best Actress. And that Gravity will mop up all the technical awards. Here is more detail on the best supporting actress Oscar battle between jennifer lawrence and lupita nyong'o being too close to call.

After the glamour of the essentially irrelevant Golden Globes on Sunday, the biggest movie news this week was the Oscar nominations announcement on Wednesday. As expected, 12 Years a Slave and Gravity got another big awards-season boost, while American Hustle, Dallas Buyers Club and Nebraska move into pole position, bumping Inside Llewyn Davis and The Wolf of Wall Street out of the spotlight. Awards contenders continue to dominate cinema screens in both America and Britain, although distributors are sneaking smaller films in as alternative programming. In the US, audiences can catch the high school comedy G.B.F. or the British period romance Summer in February, while in the UK offbeat options include Michael Cera in the Chilean road trip Crystal Fairy and the cheeky Penn & Teller documentary Tim's Vermeer. 'House Of Cards' Heralds New Era Of TV With Emmy Nomination

Kevin Spacey Jason Bateman Michael Cera Arrested Development Taylor Schilling Jason Biggs

How do you stop piracy? Do you offer up exclusive content, only available on physical purchases? Do you appeal to the box-set culture, or do you try and exert limitations that make it impossible? All these have been tried, but none of these have worked, and there’s one simple reason: you can’t stop piracy.

Kevin SpaceySpacey stars in the online-only House of Cards

But what you can do is make it pointless. With low-costing, subscription-free on-demand streaming services becoming ever-popular – Netflix being the golden child of a generation – watching content when it suits you is no longer illegal, and no longer does it cost loads of money.

It’s Only The Beginning For ‘This Is The End’: Critics Praise Seth Rogen’s Comedy

Seth Rogen Michael Cera Emma Watson Jay Baruchel Paul Rudd Rihanna Channing Tatum James Franco

Seth Rogen's comedy This Is The End has received favourable reviews from critics. Released in U.S. cinemas today (28th June) it has already been moderately successful in the U.S

Of the numerous critics who praised the fim, Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian said the film is "just one great big goofy joke". Those more critical have said the film, whilst amusing, is a collaboration of bodily functions, "grossness" and "middling". Put in even simpler terms the film embodies the crude humour in which Rogen thrives.

If you’ve been keeping up on your film news at all this year, Seth Rogen’s apocalyptic comedy This Is The End should have been a big bleep on the radar. Not only does it feature pretty much everyone you can think of on the Hollywood comedy circuit (seriously, you have Michael Sera acting opposite Jason Segel, Rogen, James Franco, Emma Watson, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson and cameos from practically every big comedian of the past five years.) The cast list goes on and on.

A Week In Movies: Cavill Replaces Cruise, Juno Temple Is Magic, Tom Hardy As Sir Elton?

Some were shocked and others relieved when news broke this week that Tom Cruise has dropped out of starring in Guy Ritchie's new Man From U.N.C.L.E. movie. Like Mission: Impossible, it's based on a 1960s TV series about a secret espionage agency. Now Henry Cavill (soon to be seen as the Man of Steel) has emerged as the front-runner to replace Cruise as spy leader Napoleon Solo.

Meanwhile, Juno Temple arrived to talk about her role as a mentally disturbed young woman in the upcoming film Magic Magic. She stars opposite Michael Cera, and mentions a wrenching confrontation as her favourite scene in the film, which was screened as part of the Director's Fortnight at Cannes.

'Arrested Development' Spurs Illegal Download Flurry

Jason Bateman Michael Cera Arrested Development

Arrested Development has spurred a development that could get people arrested. It’s also landed us the award for ‘most laboured pun’, which we’re pretty happy about. Despite the entire show being released on streaming service Netflix, the show has been illegally downloaded using the torrent method.

100,000 people either ignored the fact they could get a free one-month Netflix trial and watch the whole season cost free, or they simply didn’t know it. The fact that is was available in its entirety, on a streaming service, has meant less illegal downloads, though. Game of Thrones, for instance, showsn on HBO in America and Sky Atlantic in the U.K, reached millions of downloads, as did shows like The Walking Dead, Lost and Breaking Bad. Arrested Development has received a mixed reception since coming back from the dead. It was cancelled for low ratings, despite being one of the most popular shows of its generation. Seasons one, two and three were all highly rated, and developed a cult following, which lead to this long-awaited return. Perhaps the method of watching it, with many people binging on season 4, and the weight of expectation have dragged it down into mediocrity.

Arrested Development – Back To Its Best?

Jason Bateman Michael Cera Arrested Development

You’ve all probably binge-watched Arrested Development now, haven’t you; you consumer-obsessed bunch of popcorn eating, sleeping-bag-clad television addicts. But was it back to its best?

It’s not up to you, really. Sure you’ve watched it, but we have to let the experts decide whether something was good or not. The Telegraph – they’re experts, and they don’t think it’s back to the Arrested best. “Whether or not it was worth the wait depends largely on how tickled you are by the words ‘Steve Holt!’ or ‘motherboy’,” they write. “Embracing the impenetrably self-referential joke-within-joke formula that got it taken off the air in the first place, the new series makes no concessions whatsoever to new viewers.” The Hollywood Reporter were more impressed with the return of this cult classic. Not only is there a real brilliance to how the episodes are constructed,” they write, “but after a slow-ish start (as creator Mitch Hurwitz and his writers no doubt had to get their mojo back, but also because the structure is incredibly intricate and, at first glance, there seems to be a disjointed feeling to them), the comedic payout begins to multiply with each succeeding episode.”

Michael Cera Didn't See Other Acts As Much As He'd Have Liked On New Arrested Development

Michael Cera

The cast of Arrested Development were in London town yesterday for the premiere of the eagerly awaited new season and Michael Cera stopped to talk to reporters on the red carpet to explain a little about how the series had been filmed and what we could expect from the 15 new episodes, which air on Netflix on May 26th.

“It does pick up where the last series ended off, then catches up to the present day and goes from there,” he told ITN news. Cera did say that it was a shame that he didn’t get to see more of the other actors during filming, commenting “It was so much fun. The thing is the way this season was structured, everyone was doing other jobs and everyone was out of town and everyone’s got an episode that belongs to their character, so there was less overlap with the other actors than the old show regretfully. But there were a few scenes where we got to be together and those were so surreal and overwhelming.”

He was coy on the prospects of a feature length Arrested Development film however, answering a question about it with “I don’t know the only time I hear about that is when people ask me about that … so yeah sure why not.”

Can The New Arrested Development Really Live Up To The Hype?

Jason Bateman Michael Cera

May 26, 2013. An important date for Arrested Development fans, as that’s the date when the new series of the show, starring Jason Bateman and Michael Cera shall be unleashed, exclusively on Netflix. The show’s producers have slowly been drip-feeding tiny bits of advance information through to avid fans of the show, including single-character advertising posters and a brief clip of Buster and Lucille doing what they do best (Lucille taking advantage of her youngest son, basically…)

Whilst the actual plot hasn’t really been given away, what we do know is that each of the 15 episodes is going to feature a different character and all 15 will be available to stream in their entirety, all on the same day. Prepare for an Arrested Development marathon, folks… Originally only ten episodes were ordered, though that was later upped to 15, with a focus on different members of the Bluth family and their associations (some characters will get more than one episode dedicated to them). A recent feature from Entertainment Weekly suggests that it will be rare to see all nine of the central characters together at the same time, though there is one scene in Lucille’s penthouse, which was recreated specifically for the new season.

Whether or not this new experimental approach to Arrested Development will work and live up to the hype, of course, remains to be seen. There’s every possibility that series creator Mitch Hurwitz has totally lost the plot and we’re all going to be terribly disappointed come the end of May

Rihanna Smacks Cera In Raunchy Comedy 'This Is The End' (Trailer)

Rihanna Michael Cera Seth Rogen James Franco Paul Rudd

Rihanna smacks Cera - yes, Michael Cera - in Seth Rogen's raunchy new comedy 'This Is The End' and it's a real good smack. A new red band trailer for the movie was released earlier this week, which features the R&B superstar whacking the indie-actor and cursing at him after he makes a move at a party thrown by James Franco. Moments later, the celebrities are all faced with an apocalypse, which kind of makes things a whole lot more complicated.

You've probably come to realise that the movie is packed full of hip young actors and actresses, and the supporting cast list includes the likes of Jason Segel, Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Mindy Kaling, Danny McBride, Kevin Hart and, wait for it, Emma Watson. And they're all playing themselves. A pre-production rumor suggested Daniel Radcliffe would also form part of the cast, though it never came to fruition.

It's looking likely to be standard Rogen fare - he co-wrote the movie with his long-time friend Evan Goldberg, whom he wrote Superbad and Pineapple Express. Made on an modest budget of $25 million, it's likely that 'This Is The End' will be another success for the comedy-writing duo.

The Bluths Are Back In Town! Nearly... Arrested Development Return Date Announced

Michael Cera Jason Bateman

That’s it folks, the wait is over. The moment that we have all been weeping in tense anticipation for has finally arrived. Well, actually, it hasn’t arrived yet, but we know when it will arrive so that’s a huge weight off of everybody’s minds. In the absence of a drum roll, allow us to cut to the chase. The Bluth family are back. Netflix have finally announced the return of Arrested Development, starring Michael Cera and Jason Bateman. We all knew it was going to happen… sometime… and now we know when.

15 (count ‘em!) new episodes of the show have been commissioned by Netflix, the online streaming service and Cinemablend reports that they’re going to be launched into the big wide world on May 26, 2013, for all to see (well, all of you who pay your Netflix subscription, that is). That’s a whole episode more than we were originally promised, meaning that AD fans have even more reason to celebrate and look for excuses to be placed in a medically-induced coma between now and May 26.

The plotline for the new series has been kept well and truly hidden. Better hidden than George Bluth Sr. was in the loft all those weeks… What we do know, however, is that they have some seriously high calibre guest stars in the pipeline, including Kristen Wiig, Ben Stiller, Carl Weathers and Conan O’Brien.

Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera Launch YouTube Comedy ‘Jash’ At SXSW

Sarah Silverman Michael Cera South by Southwest

Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, SXSW, YouTube, Google… is this the hippest thing the comedy world has ever seen? If it isn’t, it’s got to be a close second, surely. The Hollywood Reporter have spoken to comedian Sarah Silverman about the new Google-funded YouTube comedy channel that she and comic actor Michael Cera have launched, named Jash.

Sarah SilvermanSarah Silverman has launched a new online comedy channel named Jash

“We each have pages within Jash and we each can curate those pages," Silverman told The Hollywood Reporter. "This is what we think is funny. It may not be your cup of tea, but there’s no testing involved, there’s no second-guessing of what a 14-year-old boy would like. It’s just a place to do stuff and fail or not fail.” The Pair are joined by Tim Heidecker, Reggie Watts and Eric Wareheim in their new venture, which launched at the annual South By South West arts and technology festival in Austin, Texas.

Arrested Development Returns! 14 New Episodes In May, And A Movie On The Way?

Michael Cera Mitchell Hurwitz

The cult comedy Arrested Development was cancelled 6 years ago on Fox, however after the cast reunited in 2011 at the New Yorker Festival, creator and writer Mitchell Hurwitz announced that he was going to write a fourth season of the comedy, to precede a film. Filming began for the fourth season last summer, and it is only now that Hurtwitz has begun to reveal a little about this new season.

Speaking to the Detroit Free Press, Hurwitz said: "The bigger story is the family has fallen apart at the start of our show. They all went their own way, without Michael holding them together, so they're left to their own devices, and they're not the most successful devices... Each individual [episode] kind of depicts what happens in 2006 as the Bluths fled from the law on the Queen Mary [an event which ended the third season]."

As screen rant notes, judging by the recently released episode titles, it seems that each one will focus on a member of the family, with most characters having 2 episodes dedicated to them.

Youth In Revolt Review

Weak
Maybe this would work if you saw it before any other Michael Cera movies. Or any other quirky, over-written rom-coms. But after all that have gone before, this feels strangely awkward and unconvincing. And rather insufferably smug.

Nick Twisp (Cera) is a 16-year-old who feels out of sync with the world. He has a summer job in a caravan park, where he instantly falls in love with Sheeni (Doubleday), the fiercely protected daughter of religious nutcases (Walsh and Place). Sheeni is like a female version of him, only sexy and smarter, and he creates an imaginary alter ego named Francois Dillinger to give him the confidence to seduce her. But of course things go wrong from the start.
