'Behind The Candelabra' screenwriter Richard Lagravenese talks about the new movie biopic about Liberace and his secret love affair with his driver in a new featurette. He praises Michael Douglas' and Matt Damon's performances and director Steven Soderbergh's vision.
'It was very important to Michael and Matt that it be real and when we met on the script, I remember them saying, 'So they really did love each other?'' He reveals. 'I'm so proud of the performance that [they] give in this. They are fearless in their performances because they went for the true emotion of these two men.' On Steven, he says: 'Steven is so smart and he knows exactly what he wants. He does things that interest him to expand the medium and do things in different ways. He's a true film artist.'
