Lawyers for Michael Jackson's physician DR. Conrad Murray have been given the summer (11) to prepare their case.
On Monday (02May11) Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor agreed to delay opening statements in the doctor's manslaughter trial, which was scheduled to begin next week (beg09May11), in light of new prosecution information based on expert research and investigation.
Jurors already selected have been dismissed and fresh jury selection will begin on 8 September (11) - 10 days after what would have been tragic Jackson's 53rd birthday.
Opening statements will begin later that month.
Murray has been accused of administering the fatal dose of anaesthetic Propofol, which claimed Jackson's life in 2009. The doctor has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
