Michael Jackson's daughter Paris has confirmed reports she spent her most recent birthday rekindling a relationship with her estranged mother Debbie Rowe.

Rowe gave birth to Paris and her brother Prince Michael while she was married to the Thriller singer for three years in the 1990s, but she agreed to waive her rights to guardianship of the children after the King of Pop died in 2009, and the former nurse gave her consent for their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, to take over as 'parent'.

But Paris recently met up with her mum for a 15th birthday shopping trip on 3 April (13).

In an interview with Britain's Mail on Sunday Event magazine, she says, "When I'm with my mum we don't really have security with us, which is really nice. We went shopping around Hollywood. We shopped at Amoeba Records, which was really fun."

Katherine Jackson adds, "Paris went out with her mother and that's fine with me."
