At 70 years old Mick Jagger is set to become a great grandfather for the first time.

The Rolling Stone's frontman has fathered six children who have produced four grandchildren but early next year his granddaughter, Assisi (21), is expected to give birth to his first great grandchild.

Jagger's daughter Jade (42), who is Assisi's mother, recently spoke to The Sunday Times Magazine about her eldest child's pregnancy.

"It is true. I am going to be a grandmother," Jade stated.

Jagger, who has been suggested to be too old to continue his rock 'n' roll lifestyle, recently announced a new 2014 tour that begins in Australia and Jade doesn't think becoming a great grandfather will force him to slow down.

"I think making Mick a grandfather obviously had a big impact whereas, now, making him a great-grandfather is no longer particularly fascinating," she told the mag.

Earlier this year following the celebrations of Mick turning 70, The Stones played a number of concerts to celebrate the bands 50th anniversary.

Jagger, along with Charlie Watts (72), Keith Richards (69), and Ronnie Wood (66), will continue their celebrations of 50 years in Australia next year as they confirmed a concert show in the newly developed Adelaide Oval on March 22nd 2014.

Mick has one daughter with Marsha Hunt called Karis Hunt Jagger (43), and with model Jerry Hall, the rocker has Elizabeth (29), James (28), Georgia (21), and Gabriel (16), as well as son Lucas (14), with a Brazilian TV presenter called Luciana Gimenez.
