Mickey Rourke has signed on to star in 'The Courier'.

The 'Wrestler' actor will work alongside 'Inglourious Basterds' star Til Schweiger on the project which tells the tale of a delivery man who has to take a special parcel to a crime boss.

Mickey's role has not been confirmed, but it is expected he will either play the criminal mastermind or one of the federal agents who chases the titular delivery person - played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan - around to find the location of his parcel drop-, and consequently the man it is being delivered too.

'Paradise Now' filmmaker HANY ABU-ASSAD is directing the movie, which has been written by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt.

Production on the film begins later in October in New Orleans, The Wrap reports.

Mickey, 58, has a number of projects currently on The Go, including his next movie 'Immortals' with Kellan Lutz and John Hurt, and in 2012 he will begin work on crime drama 'Potsdamer Platz'.
