Mike Myers will return to the big screen for a fourth instalment of Austin Powers, according to hitfix.com. The website reported that it is unclear if director Jay Roach will return to the fold, but they have confirmed that Mike Myers has very recently signed a deal to return to the role. Aside from the Shreck series of films, and some bit part roles in films such as Inglorious Basterds, Myers only live-action starring role in recent years has been in the unmitigated flop The Love Guru in 2008, which reportedly almost drove him out of the business.
According to Access Hollywood, the first Austin Powers film International Man of Mystery grossed over $467 million worldwide, while follow-up The Spy Who Shagged Me took over $310 million. The latest instalment Austin Powers in Goldmember earned around $206 million. As well as making his return to Hollywood, Myers is also expecting his first child with wife and former Saturday Night Live regular KELLY TISDALE. The pair married secretly in 2010 and only revealed the news this March. Myers and Tisdale started their relationship in 2006, after Myers split from ROBIN RUZAN after 12 years together.
