Miley Cyrus & Caitlyn Jenner Are Friends: Discuss Happiness & Bizarre Rumours About Jenner’s Transition

Miley Cyrus is friends with Caitlyn Jenner. Speaking in a recent interview, 22-year-old Cyrus revealed she and Jenner are in regular communication and they even laugh at some of the more farfetched rumours surrounding 65-year-old Jenner’s transition - including how some people believe Jenner only transitioned to gain fame!

"We've talked a lot about how you can never make every single person happy," the singer told Marie Claire. "We always laugh about people saying she transitioned to be famous. Which is crazy. Caitlyn has to tell her story, because if she doesn't, everyone else is going to tell it for her."

We’ve known for some time Cyrus is a huge fan of Jenner. Cyrus tweeted her support back in April during Jenner’s ground-breaking interview with Diane Sawyer in which Jenner announced she was transgender to the public.

Jenner later revealed her transitioned self, introducing herself to the world as Caitlyn, in a cover interview with Vanity Fair. Cyrus drew inspiration from Jenner’s cover and hand-decorated three covers. These were sold at the amfAR Inspiration Gala in New York in June and raised $69,000 for the charity.

The two friends may have been born four decades apart but they certainly have plenty in common, including their desire to ensure transgender people are allowed to reveal their gender identity without facing social stigma or persecution.

Cyrus has become an advocate from America’s homeless youth and she is well aware many of the homeless youth in the U.S. identify as LGBT (40% of homeless youth) and struggled to find acceptance in their families. Cyrus founded the Happy Hippie Foundation earlier this year to ‘rally young people to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable populations.’
