Miley Cyrus partied it up over the summer, but for her Tuesday appearance on Late Night, she served up a toned down, a cappella version of 'We Can’t Stop,' in collaboration with The Roots and Jimmy Fallon. The cover was intended as promotion for Miley’s newly released Bangerz, but it may have also helped to redeem the singer in the eyes of some of her more…critical fans.

See, she can still be (mostly) family-friendly.

It was a Brady Bunch-like montage, with Miley sporting a clean, toned down outfit and singing in the gentlest tones we’ve heard from her of late. Barring lines like “trying to get a line in the bathroom,” it was almost family-friendly. And, of course, like anything The Roots touch, it was catchier than ever. As an added bonus, this kind of tribute to the squeaky clean 90s favorite The Brady Bunch means that Cyrus hasn’t entirely left her family TV roots behind – perhaps Hannah Montana is dead and buried, but even this new, rebellious, platinum blonde Cyrus appreciates a bit of 90s sitcom goodness. And of course, vocally, she's at her best with this cover.

Then again, The Roots can make anything better.

Maybe this won’t help to lure in the harshest of Miley’s critics, but the song is probably the least scandalous thing the singer has released of late. For those interested, you can check out the video below.
