The Happy Hippie Presents #InstaPride campaign will feature stories about young, transgender people, and the singer has turned photographer to post pictures of her subjects on the social media site.

Cyrus is hoping to boost awareness about people across the gender spectrum.

In a post on Instagram, she writes, "I'm launching #InstaPride today, in partnership with @Instagram, to share stories of transgender and gender expansive people from around the country.

"Over the next 2 weeks, you'll meet them and the people in their lives who support them, as we highlight their stories of resilience."

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker founded homeless charity Happy Hippie Foundation last year (14).

The campaign comes days after the 22 year old revealed she opened up to her mother about her bisexuality when she was 14 years old in a Paper magazine interview.

Cyrus told the publication, "I remember telling her I admire women in a different way. And she asked me what that meant. And I said, 'I love them. I love them like I love boys'.

"It was so hard for her (mum Tish) to understand. She didn't want me to be judged and she didn't want me to go to hell. But she believes in me more than she believes in any God. I just asked for her to accept me. And she has."

She added, "I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn't involve an animal and everyone is of age. Everything that's legal, I'm down with... As long as you're not hurting anyone, your choices are your choices."
