Designer Marc Jacobs has told of how his long-time photographer Juergen Teller flat out refused to take part in Miley Cyrus' new campaign for the high end fashion chain. A long-time photographer of numerous fashion shoots for Jacobs, Teller apparently wanted absolutely nothing to do with Cyrus or the new campaign and stepped down from the projet before it had begun.

Miley and Marc had been planning the collaboration for some time

"Secret's out, @MileyCyrus star in the MJ SS14 Campaign shot by David Sims!" a tweet from the fashion chain read on Wednesday, 8 January, in the company's fist announcement of the collaboration. Since then Jacobs has spoken with Women's Wear Daily to discuss the new spring look and to also mention Teller's refusal to work alongside the 'Wrecking Ball' singer.

"I have worked with Juergen for years and love him as an artist. He just didn’t want to shoot her," Jacobs told WWD. But Jacobs and his business partner Robert Duffy had to have Miley regardless of Teller's opinions, as he continued, "We all just love her and her entire being, her energy, her talent, her intelligence, everything. There’s nothing I don’t like about her. She is just genuine and very natural."

Duffy befriended Cyrus some years ago and the two had been discussing a collaboration for some time, with the spring 2014 shoot the result of their long-term friendship. The singer and Jacobs then became acquainted some time later and with her public persona the biggest its ever been, the time seemed perfect for Jacobs and Duffy to capitalise on their ties with the former Disney star.

"Robert became friends with Miley a few years ago, and I know her through him," Jacobs went on to say. "I met her years ago at Robert's birthday party in Savannah (Georgia) and we became friendly."

This is the second time the Marc Jacobs label has enlisted Miley for one of its campaigns, having used her last summer for one of their 'Protect The Skin You're In' t-shirt campaigns aimed at benefiting the New York University Skin Cancer Institute.
