Miley Cyrus was recently asked to the prom by a teenage Arizona high schooler.

But the 21 year-old couldn't grant her biggest fan his wish as she turned him down via twitter.

On Saturday (Feb 8th) she posted, "Dear Matt Peterson, I don't think I'll be able to make it to prom BUT why don't you come to my AZ show & hang w me? Don't forget a corsage."

Peterson filmed a video, which has gone viral, of himself asking Cyrus to the prom when her 'Bangerz' tour hits the state of Phoenix.

"I have been a fan of yours from the beginning," he said. "You've changed my life and I want to repay you by giving you the best night of your life."

The devoted fan then recalls their history together, in other words the moments when he has followed the 'We Can't Stop' singer around.

The high schooler, whose nickname is Mr. Cyrus, first spoke about 2009 when he waited outside the KissFM studio until 3 a.m. to meet her, and a couple of months later he even got a mention at one of Cyrus' concerts.

Towards the end of the 3-minute clip, Peterson strips down and ends up only wearing a foam hand and holds a bouquet of roses.

Although it was a long shot in the first place, the crazed fan has got a pretty awesome offer in return.

"I need a tongue tuxedo made by the 27th. THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE!!! #mileyprom," he excitedly replied to Cyrus on twitter.

It is still a date!
