Miley Cyrus is at it again, channelling her inner Madonna by taking off her clothes for the sake of 'artistry.' This time round, the singer stripped down to nothing (and we mean nothing) but a pair of boots for the video for new single 'Wrecking Ball,' which the singer released via her Vevo on Monday, 9 September.

Miley hasn't really toned down at all for the new video

The video doesn't feature Miley engaging in her favourite hobby, twerking, nor does it feature the singer rocking an atrocious hair-do like she had at the VMAs or singing so openly about drugs (a la 'We Can't Stop'), but that doesn't mean she's turned things down at all. Quite the opposite actually.

In the new music video the singer does get up to some pretty bizarre behaviour, with the few instances where she licks a sledgehammer standing out as the most awkward, but it is the nudity that stands out the most, as Miley would have no doubt intended. It really was the next 'shocking' step to take for the 'boundary-pushing' artist to take following her recent headline-grabbing behaviour, so it doesn't come as that much of a surprise to see her swanning about and riding a wrecking ball in the flesh for her new video.

The song itself is a relatively personal one, seemingly referring to her on-and-off relationship with fiancé Liam Hemsworth and their ever-confusing status as a couple. With lines like "I can't live a lie, running for my life/ I will always want you" and "I never meant to start a war/ I just wanted you to let me in/ And instead of using force/ I guess I should have let you win," it seems as though the singer has her hubby on her mind. This might be the last call out for him though because Liam is apparently through with his ever-twerking fiancé, citing her recent behaviour as the main reason behind his change of heart and feelings towards Cyrus.

The pair were last seen together, apparently looking completely miserable, on August 8 at the premiere of his movie Paranoia. Ever since her infamous VMA performance, things have gotten worse between the two and Liam wants out for good, with a source telling Us Weekly recently, "He is over her and wants to make a clean break."
