Milla Jovovich and her husband Paul W.S. Anderson welcomed their second child into the world on Wednesday morning, three days after her due date.

The Resident Evil actress’s representative told E! News: “Milla delivered her daughter Dashiel Eden at 5:45 this morning. Everyone is thrilled and beyond happy! Milla is in cuddle mode with her new daughter.”

39 year old Jovovich and Anderson, the director who has guided the actress through the five Resident Evil movies to date, already have seven year old daughter Ever. Jovovich revealed to Us Weekly back in October that Ever was thrilled to learn of the arrival of a sister, and that she had given all her old hand-me-downs to the baby.

“We're giving birth to Cinderella, pretty much,” she joked. “She's like, "We don't need to buy her anything, Mama. She can just wear all of my old clothes. She doesn't need anything!”

Jovovich has been blogging over the last couple of months about maintaining her fitness during her latest pregnancy, as she has been conscious that filming begins on the sixth (and final) Resident Evil movie The Final Chapter in August and didn’t want to be in the position of having to regain fitness quickly.

She apparently hiked for five to six miles a day to maintain her figure, and took strict nutritional advice from her trainer. “I'm really proud of myself for not gaining the same amount of weight that I did with our first child (75 lbs.),” she wrote on Facebook back in January.

“Because I have to be ready to start filming… …in August of this year and I will also be nursing an infant simultaneously… I don't want to be on any extreme diets to get ready to go back to "action hero" mode!”

However, she is due to make a big screen appearance rather earlier than that. She has a role in the action thriller Survivor, released on July 10th, alongside Pierce Brosnan and Emma Thompson.
