The last song written by the late country star Mindy McCready, ‘I’ll See You Yesterday’, was a suicide prevention message that was intended as a dedication to her also recently deceased boyfriend David Wilson, it’s been revealed. Tragically of course the message turned out to be a message that even she herself couldn’t answer to, with McCready found dead from a suspected suicide just weeks after Wilson had taken his life.

The song was going to be used by Suicideispreventable.org on their site, with images on the video showing the house that Wilson killed himself in last month. Ultimately, of course, it was also the house that McCready killed herself in too. "She told me it was beautiful, it made her cry and was exactly what she wanted," says Dan "Danno" Hanks, a private investigator friend who produced the video. "I asked her if I could post it and Mindy's answer was, 'You'll know when it's right.' In hindsight, she was having me produce her suicide video."

"We know she has been through a lot and the song clearly resonated with her," said her friend Courtney Dashe, who’d written the song with McCready and watched McCready cry after hearing it. “The song had been really helping her cope with the loss." McCready shot her dog and herself, after struggling with drink and substance issues following the death of Wilson. Watch the video below.
