Minnie Driver wants to win an Oscar.

The 'Hunky Dory' actress is keen to be recognised for her work and thinks getting the prestigious accolade from the Academy would be the ultimate honour.

She told Stylist magazine: "I want to win an Oscar. I'm determined. I don't care about being nominated, I just want to win!"

Minnie, 42, also says the older she's getting the more "meatier" roles she's been offered which she prefers as they are a lot more challenging.

The actress - who has a three-year-old son, Henry - said of the roles: "Getting older, it has changed hugely, but in a good way. The parts I get now are meaty. You're not getting to play the cute girl opposite Justin Timberlake anymore, but let me tell you, those parts are pretty rubbish anyway. I don't worry about looking cute anymore."

Minnie - who plays a teacher in 'Hunky Dory' - also revealed that if she hadn't have been an actress she would have been a teacher, saying: "It's something that I really want to do. My character in the movie is a mixture of the two drama teachers I had growing up, so it wasn't hard playing her at all."
