Victoria's Secret's first high end lingerie line has nearly sold out after just one day on sale.
The Victoria's Secret Designer Collection range - which has been described by the company as "exquisite, timeless, delicate and glamorous" - was launched yesterday (24.01.12).
The project had previously been kept a secret, although a number of the pieces were exhibited at the brand's show in November 2011 in New York.
Ed Razek - Victoria's Secret president and chief marketing officer - told WWD: "We took it in-house because we have a design team that has such a passion for lingerie, and they differentiate Victoria's Secret from any other brand."
The collection - which includes bras, matching thongs with ruffle detailing and silk garter belts, as well as chiffon baby dolls - is set to replace the luxury lingerie products stocked in the majority of the retailer's stores.
At the November show, Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr strutted down the catwalk in a $2.5 million Fantasy Treasure Bra and a 'Very Sexy' bra and knickers set that came with a custom-made silk-wrap and tutu.
She was cheered on by her husband Orlando Bloom at the event, which cost $12 million to produce and also featured performances by rappers Kanye West and Jay-Z, as well as 'Moves Like Jagger' group Maroon 5.
