The comedians behind Monty Python have turned into household names and The Holy Grail is potentially their most loved piece. Having been commissioned by the BBC in 1969 Terry Gilliam, John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Graham Chapman began shooting scenes for a sketch show under the name of Monty Python's Flying Circus. The 45 episodes were full of surreal comedy which each and every one soon became cult classics.
In 1975 the sextet released Monty Python and the Holy Grail, a new version of the King Arthur legend, unlike any ever told before. 40 years following its release, Monty Python and the Holy Grail is just as popular as ever, having been turn into a stage show musical, various lines from the comedy are instantly recognisable by millions. The 40th anniversary addition is available on DVD and Blu-ray now and includes a Q&A recorded at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival and a special packaging including catapult and farmyard animals.
