Morrissey has unveiled the official audio stream of a new and rather controversial song entitled 'I Bury The Living'. Taken from his newly released album 'Low In High School', the lyrics contain themes that might be uncomfortable for many to year in the wake of Remembrance Day.
It's a rather sarcastic tune written from the point of view of a soldier, and appears to slam individuals in the military for everything from aggression to hypocrisy. With lyrics like: 'A wretched outcast with no point of view/ What could I do, just military service' and 'I'm just an innocent soldier/ Give me an order, I'll blow up a border/ Give me an order I'll blow up your daughter', the former Smiths singer is sure to divide opinions once again.
The audio comes after the already released singles 'Spent the Day in Bed', 'Jacky's Only Happy When She's Up on the Stage' and 'I Wish You Lonely'; all of which appear on Morrissey's eleventh studio album 'Low in High School' which was produced by studio legend Joe Chiccarelli.
Morrissey is currently on his North American tour. Having already performed in Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Tempe, Salt Lake City and Denver, he will also play in St Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC, New York, Philadelphia and Boston through until December.
'Low in High School' was released on November 17th 2017 through BMG Records.
