Concho Concho Album

When multi-instrumentalist GK Wicker moved to the wide open vistas of the Southern Californian desert he reinvented himself as DJ Concho. He then poured his images and feelings about his new state into his music, along with impressions from travels in Texas and Brazil. The result is his self-titled album. Mixing the western twang of acoustic guitars with silky-smooth loops and samples, this is an album to rival the superb Unkle. Leaving Town's modern day 'High Noon' feel is the high spot of the collection, with Nuestro Pueblo contributing a certain trippy dub reggae style. A deliciously cool chill-out comes courtesy of Salvation Mountain. Reminiscent at times of Underworld, William Orbit and Death in Vegas, this is an exciting new talent and a great little album.
