MYLO AND TIGA SET TO IGNITE TRIBAL GATHERING

Tribal Gathering has announced this week three more additions to its sterling line-up for their first outdoor event for eight years, with some big names in the areas of electronica and garage, all appearing in Leeds on 16th July 2005.

The immensely talented Scottish DJ Mylo will be looking to steal the show with a DJ set of his unique blend of heavy-duty beats and 80s influenced electro-rock, playing out tracks from his outstanding debut album ‘Destroy Rock & Roll’. Described as somewhere between Daft Punk and Prince, he will be displaying his unquestionable

knack for mixing exhilarating guitar riffs with stylish stabs of electronica. Tribal Gathering will see him create an impressive sound that crosses many musical genres, with tracks such as ‘Valley of the Dolls’ and ‘Sun Worshipper’. Given that he has worked with many big names already – remixing Elton John and touring with the Scissor Sisters - there will undoubtedly be a huge buzz on the day for his performance.

Joining Mylo on the day will be arguably Canada’s finest DJ export Tiga, who will be taking time out from remixing singles for Scissor Sisters, Peaches and Soulwax to deliver a rousing DJ set of multi-faceted electronica and electro-sleaze. Possibly most famous for his remix of Nelly’s ‘Hot in Herre’ which eventually got licensed by Skint, his contributions on the uber-cool ‘Nag Nag Nag’ releases and Richard X’s debut album have given him an unrivalled reputation and his set will certainly be one of the highlights at Tribal Gathering.

Also appearing on the bill are garage renegades Stanton Warriors. The duo will be showing off their hyperactive mixing and energetic nu-breaks to the Tribal Gatherers.

Mylo., Tiga and Stanton Warriors will be joining an already exceptional line-up of DJs and live acts already announced. These are:

Groove Armada, Audio Bully’s, Frankie Knuckles, Danny Rampling, Mike Pickering, El Presidente, Infadels, Krysko, Layo and Bushwacka, Zero 7, Francois K, Plump DJs, Krafty Kuts, Victor Calderone, X-Press 2, Chicken Lips, Joey Negro, Norman Jay, Unabombers, Bugz in the Attic, DJ Yoda, Dave Beer and Bez, 20:20 Soundsystem.

Exactly 20 years after the legendary Live Aid concert, Tribal Gathering is returning for the first time in eight years in a huge fund-raising venture organised by David Vincent and the Playing Alive Foundation. All profits from the event will go to the Playing Alive Foundation, a charity that will then pass it on to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) in aid of the massive humanitarian disaster in Sudan.

Tribal Gathering will be held in Leeds on 16th July 2005. Tickets for the event can be purchased from www.ticketline.co.uk or by phoning the Tribal Gathering hotline on 0161 832 1111.
